Why the Xuan Kong System Delivers Full Depth Remotely
Many people assume a feng shui consultation requires the practitioner to walk through the property. For Classical Xuan Kong Flying Stars, this is not the case, and there is a precise methodological reason why.
The Flying Stars natal chart is calculated from two pieces of data: the property's facing direction (the exact compass degree) and the construction period (when the residents moved in). Neither requires Lee to be physically present. Once these two data points are accurate, the natal chart is identical whether it is cast standing in the room or from the other side of the world.
The same applies to BaZi: each family member's chart is calculated from their birth date and time. This is data, not observation.
The one element that benefits from physical presence is the external environment assessment, known as Form School, which examines roads, landforms, and surrounding structures. For online consultations, this is covered substantially through photos, a video walkthrough, and satellite or map views of the property location. Property Layout with Compass Directions
A floor plan showing all compass directions with exact degrees. Hand-drawn is acceptable. Include the main door, kitchen, all bathrooms, all bedrooms, windows, balcony, back door if any, and any large metal cupboards or items.
Birth Details of All Family Members
The birth date and time of each person living in the property. This produces each person's BaZi chart for the individual cross-referencing that makes the consultation person-specific.
Occupancy Details
When the family moved into the property, not when it was built. This determines the Flying Stars construction period. Also note the property type and number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
Photos, Video, and Concerns
Photos or a short video walkthrough of the space and its surroundings, plus the main concerns you want addressed, such as wealth, health, relationships, or career.
How to Take an Accurate Compass Reading
- Calibrate your phone compass before taking any readings. An uncalibrated compass can be off by several degrees.
- Stand at the main door facing outward, away from metal objects, electrical appliances, and metal jewellery, all of which distort the reading.
- Record the exact degree, not just the general direction. The precise degree determines which of the 24 Mountain sub-directions your property occupies, and that determines the entire natal chart.
- For apartments, take the reading for the building's main facing direction, not your individual flat's door direction. All flats in the building share the same facing direction base.
- Take the reading more than once to confirm it is consistent before sending it.

Lee reviews the layout and compass directions for internal consistency before casting the chart. Where the facing direction sits near a 24-Mountain boundary, or where the layout is ambiguous, she will ask you to re-verify the reading. This step protects the accuracy of the entire analysis.

Photos, a video walkthrough, and satellite or map views of the property location supplement the layout where helpful, particularly for assessing the external environment around the property that the floor plan alone does not capture.
